Owner, Honeygirl Meadery
Diane Currier is the sole owner and mead maker at Honeygirl Meadery, which opened in downtown Durham North Carolina in October 2014, as the fourth meadery in the state. She started her professional career in marketing/advertising/PR while in New York City, and then discovered her love of mead making and brewing after moving to Durham NC. She started homebrewing as a way to make new friends in her new town, and was introduced to mead while on vacation in Homer Alaska. After hiking through a field of local fireweed wildflowers, she was introduced to a mead made from those flowers at Ring of Fire Meadery, and was hooked for life. Now you can catch her running Honeygirl Meadery, promoting mead within the foodie community, and growing along with the mead movement in North Carolina.
